Cenobio Hotel & Spa Matera

Very nice views and unique atmosphere, but access to the hotel involves a challenging walk from parking. We enjoyed a lovely bike tour nearby.

Want to say thank you for really really nice stay. It's reasonably clean hotel with amazing views and a nice design. The rooms are unique and quiet, have down pillows and hypo-allergenic pillows. You will find a mini-bar, climate control, and a personal safe...

everything was perfect, including very kind staff and favourable location in a quiet area. location just next door to italy as well as the historic center.

The breakfast was the best we've had in Italy, with fresh pastries and local cheeses! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Only downside was the tricky stairs to get there 🙈.

Its location around 10-15 minutes walk from Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden was lovely and good. The rooms where new-fashioned and unique with both character, wonderful view, as for instance as described.

Breakfast was excellent, with fresh pastries and local cheeses. Our family suite was spacious and perfect for our needs. We felt at home!

Rooms were a good size and very clean.

Finding the hotel was tricky, as it was a significant walk from the parking lot, not clearly mentioned. The stairs leading up to the hotel are challenging, especially if you have heavy luggage. Although we booked spa treatments, we were surprised to find we had to pay extra to use the spa facilities.

Unique stay! But a bit challenging to reach

Staying in a cave room blended authenticity and comfort beautifully. The breakfast spread was really good, with local cheeses and pastries, made each morning good. Staff interactions were warm and cute. The location allowed us to explore the city easily, with key attractions just a short walk away.

The trek from the parking area to the hotel was quite a workout, especially with luggage.

Wi-fi was strong. Welcome drink was a nice touch. Could improve on luggage storage.

Staying in a cave room offered an very nice blend of authenticity and comfort, with unique details like fossils visibly integrated into the walls. Breakfast featured crepes alongside a good selection of pastries, greatly enhancing our mornings. Unfortunately, shower products were often not replenished during our multi-night stay, and the hotel was a bit tricky to reach from the parking area, requiring a lengthy walk. The lack of proper wine glasses detracted slightly from the overall experience.

Recommend for a short layover

Cozy room, cute staff, the experience of sleeping in a cave room with unique fossil details in the walls and an really good breakfast with local cheeses and freshly baked pastries made my stay nice.

Staying at the Cenobio Hotel & Spa was a unique experience! The spacious suite with a hot tub offered a perfect blend of ancient charm and modern comfort, while the breakfast buffet was a feast of delectable local cheeses and freshly baked pastries. Every morning seemed like a celebration with their extensive selection, including good homemade cakes and fresh seasonal fruit. The staff was warm and cute.
